Invasion! Artist uses 100,000 Giant Balloons
The artist Charles Pétillon creates work with balloons that interact with architecture and surrounding spaces. The one pictured above, called Heartbeat, is in a large market in London. The work seems to have a smoke, or cloud quality that pulses with light and energy.

“The balloon invasions I create are metaphors. Their goal is to change the way in which we see the things we live alongside each day without really noticing them.
In his own words. "With Heartbeat I wanted to represent the Market Building as the beating heart of this area—connecting its past with the present day... Each balloon has its own dimensions and yet is part of a giant composition that creates a floating cloud above the energy of the market below.”
