Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico City in 1907 and painter during the magic realism movement (started in 1955) that depicted images that were fantastical and surreal. Frida made a considerable contribution to the movement as a whole and was famous for her eccentric style and lively personality. It could be said that Frida was the kind of gal that marched to the beat of her own drum. This pumpkin art was sent in by Ella D. from Detroit, MI.
